Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Alpe du' Hez in April

How good is Alpe du' Hez (sic?) in April? Planning on a trip in the 2nd week of April, but I've heard it gets a lot of sun and is not a good late season choice. Any thoughts? If not, it will have to be Val T.

Too late for Alpe d'Huez in my experience. It's too far south and sunny.

Arc 2000 can be brilliant in mid April, or even Arcs 1600/1800 in a good winter.

David Goldsmith, I agree. We did April 10th -17th at Arc 2000 last year and had excelent snow. Espace Killy is also fine then, and later too.

conor, We've done Alpe D in April and the snow was pretty good on the higher runs. The lowest runs were really suffering though....the run down to Oisans was down to a yard wide strip through mud! We still had a great time and there was more than enough to keep us busy but the classic Sarenne and the whole of the Auris sector was closed, which was frustrating as it looked pretty snowy from afar.

All in all I'd suggest going somewhere more snow sure unless your booking late and sure of the conditions.
