Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

gazza2, 153's are much too short. For off/on piste, you'll be needing 170's -180's. I'm 10stone 10lbs and ski off piste in that range. Good luck with your choice.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'd have thought way too short, 170's, probably nearer the mark

Massively too short for that type of ski and 13.5 stone. You should be looking at 175 minimum and probably more like 180+ for a fatter ski. 153s in those skis would be for kids or sub 9 stone adults.

gazza2,

General rule head-height for a good skier. Add a few cms for TT's and take a few off if a specialist fattie that they have built to ski short.

That puts you at 175.... ..

Can't for the life of me see anything working under 170...

I'm also 5'9", but about 11st... looking at 168 B83s... these still sound on the short side for me? Skid B3s in 160 in Jan and only felt a bit short (though there wasn't any powder to play in)

mikeyg, For a piste ski 170 sounds about right for you. Off piste I'd go a smidgen longer.
