Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

SIM card in Fernie?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,

anyone know where one might buy a prepay SIM card in Fernie? Am plotting a longish trip, so I think a local number would be useful

failing Fernie, can they be had in Calgary airport?

Thanks in advance, John

You can get a cheap and cheerful phone in Extra Foods in Fernie for $40 with $10 credit, or I'm pretty sure the flower shop down 2nd does sims. I much prefer the cell though, nice and basic, battery lasts forever!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sim cards are not generally sold in Canada but as horse Piste says there are some great prepaid phone deals available. Best deal is 7/11 pay $100 and get a free nokia phone with $100 air time on it. Must be the best deal anywhere in North America air time lasts for 1 year and if you dont use it all you can always sell it on.

as a follow up, the 7/11 had no phones when I went in and no idea when /if they would have them

they sent me to Extra Foods 5 mins walk away and I picked up a nasty clamshell Samsung for CAN$60 which does the job

I think you can get PAs YG SIM cards from ROgers phone shops. Its not necessarily something that is widely advertised but we bought our triband phones over and di exactly that
