Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Suggestions for a bed for a couple of nights in Zermatt?

Should be finishing a tour into Zermatt on 24 or 25 Mar, and fancy a day or so skiing there before having to come home (will be flying out of Geneva on the Sunday morning). Any suggestions for reasonable places to stay? The main problem is that this is Easter weekend. 5* far from necessary - would probably actually prefer bunkhouses etc - just must have good showers!

I actually expect that our guide will have some pretty good contacts, but any information welcome.

GrahamN, I stayed in the youth hostel last April, which has been fully modernised and has fine showers. Evening meal is included in the rate and the hostel is located near the Furi-Klein Matterhorn station, on one of the circular bus routes from the station.
There's a commercial hostel down the road from there, the name of which I forget.
The Hotel Bahnhof, opposite the station, is low priced.

You could do worse than the Hotel Perren - I stayed there last April, can't remember exact prices but it was pretty reasonable (for Zermatt anyway) and it's very comfortable.
It's about 2-3 minutes walk from the Sunegga funicular (and the Gornergrat station I think), and maybe 10 mins walk from the Klein Matterhorn lift system.
