Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Adjusting canting on Tecnica Rival X9?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the cant on my boots?

When I'm going straight and my skis are flat, the right one obviously isn't as I kick up snow from the inside edge.

I realise it may be a trial and error job - adjust, see what difference it's made, adjust again... until I get it right.

Hi Higs

I've got the exact same problem. I can sometimes correct it by really applying pressure to the outside of my feet (especially the right one) but this is exhausting, and can't be the way. I do have enormous flat feet. (have already put the arch to max)

Are you also sometimes almost falling when going straight down just because you're digging into the snow when you're supposed to be flat?

When I'm going down and cutting into the snow I have no problems at all.

Can you send me the details too how to adjust?

Thanks
Vincent

Hi Vincent

It's not so bad with me that I'm 'almost falling'. To be honest it's something I've noticed happening - I look down and the inside of the right ski is kicking up a bit of snow - but I can't really feel it affecting my skiing.

I'll gladly forward on the scanned instructions that Bob sent me if you PM me your email address.

I've actually not tried adjusting the boot yet as the instructions are general for the Rival range and the cant adjuster on mine is slightly different to that shown. For the first time ever skiing last week I found myself tightening the boot up more and more as the week went on so I suspect my liners may be on their way out. If I end up getting new liners I'll ask the fitter to have a look at the cant at the same time.
