Poster: A snowHead
|
Left it late and now wife,9 yr old son and usual crowd have all decided they can't or don't want go at 1/2 term. Looking for suggestions for somewhere nice, we stayed at the Mont Vallon in Meribel last year, to hook up with others for skiing, dinner etc. My daughter has done 6 weeks and is pretty good, certainly gave me a run for my money last time out. Any other parents in a similar position?

marlboro, I'm off with my daughter (13 in 2 weeks time) to Zermatt at half term. Booked it ages ago though, think you may struggle now. Out of curiosity I checked yesterday and the 2 flights I paid £230 for are now £1500 (next day though as Saturday is full)

Hi, I would suggest Soldeu, Andorra, I recommend Andorra as a very good resort and quite reasonable
I have many years skiing experience in Andorra (most areas), hold first aid
cert. Hold ESC senior club Instruc. cert. (affiliated to Snowsport England) I
have also taught adults and youngsters at Ski school in the UK, and MK Snowzone
up to a very good level of parallel turning. Using current teaching / coaching
principals.
Simply, I love the ski/mountain environment but severe financial probs do not allo me the whole ski trip. If you consider it worthwhile and were willing to say supply either flight, accom. pass or some combination I am sure you would benefit greatly form my experience, and would welcome the copmpany socially as well.
I am well organised and able to mix easily with all, and love to encourage fun in a safe environment both
FYI. my dob is 15/11/54 and I live in essex,UK. I can travel 21st/22nd Feb onward
Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can discuss this further. many thanks
looking forward in anticipation to your reply

Kind Regards
Paul Darrell

I'm off with my daughter (9) to Risoul as the mrs and my 2 young son's don't fancy it this year. We are going for a week March 22nd, so quite late but it's my daughters first time and i've picked risoul as it's excellent place to start and we can ski over to Vars if she picks it up. Excellent value that week as 2 for one lift passes and ski hire. I'm sure she'll pick it up quick enough as quite natural with most sports and we are both looking forward to spending a week together without the two boys around our ankles LOL. Hopefully be some other dads with kids we'll meet up with in simular situation.
I've been snowboarding for 10 years and ditching it for skiing now, ahh the joys of having a family, time to grow up!! i'm still a big kid.
