Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

CEM & SMALLZOOKEEPER, yes, I know the 28 and 28.5 shells are the same, I was told so when I bought them.

No, I didn't know that the inners are identical in both - maybe cos I'm not a bootfitter. No doubt there's stuff I know from my job that I could be smug about knowing if I really wanted to... rolling eyes

I also have X-wave 8s, but a half size smaller - mondo 28. However, I wear size 10 shoes!

there is a strong likelyhood that your boots are too big but you knew that already Little Angel

rcalder, I am also a ladies size 4 and 5'1". My first ever boots were a mondo size 23 in a beginners comfy style. They fitted for about 2 holidays and then packed out inside (coz they had so much padding inside) and were then too big. I now wear a size 22 which is about as small as you can get in adult boots. However, it does depend on the shape of your foot as well and I have very narrow heels and ankles so a 23 doesn't hold my heel in place.

I recommend hiring for the first couple of holidays at least because it will take a bit of time for you to realise how boots should fit. This is because it's not until you are skiing that you realise they feel too big or too small.

The hire boots are a much better standard nowadays than they used to be and you will be able to change them the next day if you feel that they don't fit correctly.
