Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hey do any of you know when the snow melts in Mayrhofen? me and my mates wanna go snowboarding there in april, but im not sure if the snow lasts till then? can anyone help me out?

I seem to remember that many of the lower Austrian resorts close for the end of season in late March. However, Mayrhofen has access to the Hintertux glacier which has snow all year round I believe...

I am off there on 4th April and hoping for reasonable snow. I was also there the third week in April three years go and the snow was ok. Typical spring conditions, icy in the morning and a bit soft in the afternoon but it snowed pretty heavily, from memory, on three days. There were also very few runs closed. No guarantees what it will be like this year, of course but with a fair wind you should be ok.
