Hmm, fair enough. Only gear I bought from Decathlon was a pair of relatively expensive (for Decathlon - £12 a pair) Wed'ze socks after going there looking for some Rossi slalom race gloves they had dirt cheap but were out of stock. Both pairs of socks wore through after about ten times wearing/washing. I'm suspect about the cheapness and quality of their gear rather than snobby about the name.

probably fair enough... their fleeces although cheap last about 10 washes as well.... i do however have a pair of fur lined wellie type boots that are great are were under 10 euro... i got a stop watch there for 7 euro, a petzl head light for a few euro, that sort of thing...

How can Elans not be cool they are designed by Glen Plake? Is he not the oppitomy of cool??
Currently most of my kit is Salomon but it is the high end of it 3v labs and Lords. Would love the Czars but I cant think I would get enought use from them I have no brand loyalty and would wear any skis if they where good and I liked them that is all that is important to me.
I think there is allot of snobery on the forum about kit etc, If it works for the person wearing it and they are happy with it that is all that counts. Like someone said allot of it is geographic. In the usa you will see alot of K2, In Austria you will see atomic, Vokl etc and France Rossi etc.
