Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dear all - am off to Les Arcs on Sat for a week, staying in Plan Peisey.
Lunch always a key part of the day for our group and any suggestions out there for a decent value for money (?!?b***dy pound/euro rate?!?) mtn restaurant or two in the area would be much appreciated - nothing too jazzy, decent plat de jour kind of thing...
cheers Patrick

patrick318, Staying in 2000 at the moment and been looking at restaurant prices in 1950 and they are terrifying. There is a place called 'East' right in the centre of Arc1950, does chinese and Indian food. 14.50 euro for a chicken tikka massala at dinner time. However we passed it at lunchtime today and it had a eat as much as possible buffett for 12.50 euro. Cracking value and good food. The other must place to eat is Le/La? Ferme in Villarogier. Old french farmhouse, great food.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I am sure there is also a good place on the run down to Villaroger. Above La Pre....Maybe called La Fenetre....

Good for lunch anyway if you go over that side but have to make it back to the resort proper by end of day.

ed.bremner, La Solliet. Nice, but not cheap. La Ferme (in Villaroger itself) is better value for money, IMO.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The self-service Arpette above 1600 was good compromise between price and quality on our visit over Christmas. Gets very busy though if it isn't nice enough to sit outside. Agree places in 1950 seem very expensive. Another place popular with our group (although I didn't eat there myself) was the restaurant near the bottom of the Pre St Esprit and Comborciere lifts.
