Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Question for any tignes seasonnaires or regulars?

Hi, im getting the alpski bus from Geneva to Val claret.
I have a couple of questions. Should i book in advance or when i get to the airport.
If i book in advance, im worried what happens if my flight is delayed?
If i book when i get there im worried the bus will be full!

Also with my return, the bus either gets to the airport 6hrs or 1hr before my flight.
Does the bus actually take 4hrs or is that just what they say, just incase of any delays?
Should i go for safe option and get there 6hrs early? Or is it ok to go for the later bus?

Thanks

adamtheyido, someone with more experience of the bus will be along soon, but I can tell you it is a good three hours to GVA from Tignes. The best I;ve had was 2.75hrs in a minibus, the worst 4.5hrs, I think you need to get the early bus back.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'd agree: quite apart from the transport, I also wouldn;t risk arriving at Geneva only one hour before take-off

Book in advance, take the early bus back.

Just allow enough time on the way out so that missing isn't likely. I'd say at least 2 hours min from arrival to bus to be safe. If you miss they will allow you onto the next one.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

adamtheyido,

Alpski buses usually arrive on time and have time built into there schedules for delays.

adamtheyido,
I took the Touriscar bus back from Val d'Isere at 13.10 on Saturday. It was scheduled to take 3 hours 50 mins - actually took 4 hours 30 due to bad traffic heading into Moutiers and through the Douaine into Switzerland... err on the side of caution. Oh, and if your inbound flight is late, they will be happy to put you on the next scheduled bus (as long as there is space). Have a great time in Tignes - the snow is fantastic.
