Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The 3Cs ?

I've been thinking about the way over the last year we've been describing the various levels of skiing ability and all too often I've read evocations of aggression, dominance and power . . . all nouns I understand, but have never been fully convinced are the nirvana to quick safe skiing. So . . . I'd like to offer the following as an alternative . . .

commitment, control, confidence . . . the 3 Cs

Commitment: The desire to progress and develop ski skills.

Control: To know, learn about, be self-aware of the fitness and strength required to ski quickly and to then, strive to meet those.

Confidence: Gained via instruction, practice and peer support

what about 'cranium' as in what goes on inside? Based on the last couple of weeks then I think what happens iside the head is as important as the 3c's you've mentioned. I watched a lady in our group today, who had skiied well all week, when faced with a steeper, tougher slope than she'd been on before completely lost her bottle and then struggled to get down it...

Myslef I've had issues boarding where I've just psyched myself out rather than going with the flow...

Oh and Fitness must come into it as well...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
