Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First saturday of UK half term where to go skiing for one day from Annecy?

Due to the difficulties caused by HD ferries pulling out of Jersey at very short notice Mad cherry picking company........we had to change our ferry times for the half term scrum. Now staying in Annecy for the Friday and Saturday before going to La Ros.

Need to take my 8 year old out for a day omn the saturday prior to her 3 star lessons starting as she always has a wobble on the first day. Need somewhere with a lack of queues, does not need to be a large area, with reasonable access from Annecy, and parking at base of lifts etc

Only small place i have been to around there is areches, but other ideas welcome. The lack of crowds would be the deciding factor.

Thanks

I don't think anywhere will be that quiet on those dates but La Clusaz / Grand Bornand are within stricking distance and may not be too bad.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Manigod 2-3 k from La Clusaz may be a little quieter, car park v near lifts, easy enuf slopes, the La Clus GB pass covers it but cheaper to buy a local Manigod pass. If u go to La Clusaz take Gondola up to La Balme area hi and learner friendly, you can take Gondola down at end of day if needed.

La Clusaz/Le Grand Bornand more accessible than Areches Beaufort (if that's the Areches you mean).

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

kendub, Thanks for the advice, Manigod looks a reasonable bet

pam w, Yes its Areches Beaufort i was thinking of, even though it was a long time ago I last skied there.

Don't mind travelling a bit for quiet slopes if we set off early
