I've fallen for these in a big way so am rattling the piggy bank into concussion to see if I can stretch to some to me from Santa. 400 bucks is a bit on the hefty side for 08/09s so I was wondering if the only difference between these and last season is the graphics, can anyone enlighten please?
Thanks folks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Further research has indicated there is a difference (something about the make up of the core, no, I don't know either) so 08/09 it is. Have now found a website that's got them for £399 + free delivery, I feel my pockets jinglejangling..

Eeyore, Heavy skis and a female Recon... buy the Black Rose instead, for that money. Far better bet, IMV.

JT, [whine] but I like them...[/w] Seriously, the heaviness is part of the attraction. Will have a look at the Black Rose tho, thanks

22 dropout, It was the 156s I tried earlier in the year (when the wretched things wheedled their way into my affections)

OK, purchase has been made and my beauties are now in my mitts, small issue is that, as you'd expect from mail order, bindings are sat in a separate box. Any idea how much it should cost to get them attached to skis (they're straight forward rail attachments)? Would it be cheaper/better to hold fire and get it done in resort (where I will be in 7 sleeps time)?
(you may not get it from this message but I'm a very happy bunny indeed!!)

If they are rail attachments sounds like should be a very quick job.
I have just ordered she-who-must be-obeyed some 0708 Miss Demeanors from Conrad for 184 euros delivered . They not only mount the bindings but ask where you want them centred.

Eeyore, if no drilling is required it should be a pretty quick job as stoatsbrother says. If you don't try and get them done at the same time that the shop has 300 Crystal punters to set up with skis and boots I'd be surprised if they charge you anything

arv, thanks I just googled conrad got various K2s but too long for me.
I'll try the other one. Does it matter if they are not the latest skis? the ones 2 or 3 years ago are the only new ones I can afford? At 45 I dont really think I will be looking to increase my speed, I would like to improve technique so I am a bit safer going at the speed I like.
Thanks

You know it makes sense.

Yoda, took me about 3 reads to get that sentence (blame the gin) but sounds like 'do it in resort' is a good idea. We're arriving around 2ish so I reckon a quick jaunt up the hill should do the job
