Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi Folks

I am looking at heading to St. Anton with a buddy early February.

We are looking for something affordable. Don't mind if breakfast is included but would like something which has cooking facilities if possible???

Stayed last time at Nasserein, not a bad area with access to the bus.

Ideas please? Puzzled

sproutski, Welcome to Snowheads. Official St Anton website good for basing things on price http://www.stantonamarlberg.com/winter/ViewPage.asp?Site=STANTON2-WINTER&PageID=206&lang=201
Also this guys website is good for finding some gems http://www.st-antonamarlberg.co.uk/ I've stayed at Talhof Nigg before which is a b&b right at the start of he pedestrian street (coming from the nasserein part of town) for around €55 per night b&b. You can get cheaper by staying Nasserein. Better to try and stay in Dorf (centre) or Oberdorf (from Glazigbahn towards Moos) if possible
Good luck

not sure when the OP last went to Naz, but we stayed in march ) , and there was a gondola up then you could ski around / down rather than take the bus
the gondola at Naz , also never had a queue ( although this was march 1 week before the end of the season).

unless the bus is required for the nocturnal drinking trips of course

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The Nassereinbahn hardly ever picks up a big queue - the only real exceptions are in the morning when the ski schools start and also when the upper mountain is closed for avvy clearing.

You don't need a bus to get from most parts of Nasserein to the centre of town, the "Dorf". Ten minutes walk there. Maybe 20 minutes stagger back. Happy

The cheapest accom will be outside StAnton itself - even just going slightly up the valley to St Jakob will mean much cheaper prices - but then you will need a bus to get to town. Feb is high season, so you need to "get on your bike" if you want to find accom. The sites Boabski mentioned are as good as any for accom listings.

Hi sproutski, if you don't mind paying a wee bit more to stay in the centre of St Anton...

Went a few years ago and we wanted just what you've described - appartment or B&B, decent but affordable, and central location. We ended up HERE and it was perfect.

Looks like prices are a bit steeper now, but still looks good value to me and would highly recommend it - right on the main street and nice appartment - ours had a small kitchen, but you'd hardly rustle up a four course treat in it to be honest.

Good luck.
