 Poster: A snowHead

Hi everyone,
First time drive down to Chamonix on the 27th Dec. One of our party has their own skis and we are looking for a roof rack as cheap as poss. Having looked on the net, there appears to be something called a 'X RACK UNIVERSAL SOFT ROOF RACK 800 X WIDE 4 SKIS' and is basically a soft material roof rack in an x shape fashion. Do any of you experienced snow heads have any idea if these are any good?!

Only personal preferance but from what it sounds like it is not a box, i would always go for a ski box as i have done for the past 10 years. Far better for fuel con plus you can get a lot of other stuff in them freeing up space inside esp if you are taking a car load.

5 of us...think we may hire a roof box from edge to edge instead! My gut feeling is that we'll probably see the skis flying down the autoroute!

Just remember to pack your yellow jacket when driving in france in case of breakdown? and get breakdown insurance its a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!
