Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

World champion ski racer puts boots in overhead locker

Poster: A snowHead
Anyone with check-in neurosis about carrying ski boots as hand baggage can cite the example of Lindsey Vonn, reigning World Cup overall ski champion, who put her boots in the overhead locker on a flight from Chicago to Frankfurt this week ... as eye-witnessed by Chicago Tribune reporter Philip Hersh.

She also ...

...put on compression socks as a defense against leg cramps and put a mask over her mouth as a defense against germs. She also made frequent use of an anti-bacterial hand lotion and offered some to me. She kept a scarf around her neck.

This report from Chicago Tribune.

You can't be too careful with your health these days .... Is that really enough?

I don't sleep well on aircraft - the comment about Ambien was interesting.

achilles, I just googled Ambien, and it's one of the trade names for zolpidem. I can't sleep at altitude - like Val Thorens - and my GP prescribes me zolpidem in a low dosage for the time I'm away. Interesting that it might work on a plane too. In fact if you google altitude and zolpidem, there's quite a lot of stuff there.

This is one of the reasons why I revere our American cousins so.......the only country in the world where so many of the big and empty spaces are full of teeth.
