Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wondering if anyone can help with this one.

I am travelling with a group of 10 to Les Menuires via the overnight Friday Eurostar. We arrive early in the morning and our chalet will not be ready until two. Is there anywhere we can store bags in Les Menuires before we get into our chalet? Or would it be better to store stuff in Moutier?

What should we do to while away the time - I am guessing we will be a little worse for wear from the train and a night of drinking and therefore suspect it unlikely sking will be possible?

Val Thorens Sport Centre (in the Centre Commercial Caron) and Les Menuires Sport Centre (Quartier Croisettes) both operate a left luggage office every Saturday from 8am until 8pm.

It costs €1.50 per bag and you can also take a shower for €4.

You can pre-book if you wish by calling:
Val Thorens +33 (0) 479 00 00 76
Les Menuires +33 (0) 479 01 08 83

taken from http://www.valthonet.com/faq.php?id_faq_type=165#1235. Hope that solves your problem. however I was lead to believe when looking into going by eurostar that they provided somewhere for you to leave your kit, could easily be wrong though. And the idea that you would give up a days skiing due to a 'tiring' train ride and some booze?!! Preposturous

Awooga, If you don't wnat t ski that day, you can always go to the indoor swimming poole, with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna etc. It's rather nice and you can catch up on your sleep lying on the loungers looking out at the ski slopes!

Have you asked your chalet hosts/holiday company if they have somewhere you can store your stuff? People arrive early all the time so there's usually some place they'll allow you to store your bags and get changed before chucking you out. And being tired and hungover from overnight eurostar is not a valid excuse for not being on the slopes on your first day!

As maxineige said. All the ones I've been to have been happy to stash my gear somewhere and I've changed in the downstairs loos or somewhere similar.

Not skiing on your first day - you must be crazy!!

I'm also traveling to Les Menuires this year. Does anyone have any feedback on bars/restaurants in Reberty? Also, self catering for the first time so any idea of shops (and prices) in the area?

The credit crunch certainly hasn't hit 3V yet! If you're intending to feed yourself (rather than eating out) for most of your time there and you've got a car, I'd recommend doing grocery shopping down the hill at Hyper Champion in Moutiers or at Geant in Albertville on your way to resort or you'll end up paying a small fortune for grub & stuff from the Spar/Casino stores in resort.
