Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm collecting some K2s tomorrow with the above mentioned bindings. They are secondhand and i know that the bindings are set for a smaller sole plate than my boots.
My question is can these integrated bindings be moved/adjusted to take a larger boot or am i going to have to get them remounted? Puzzled Puzzled Puzzled
I just know theres a snowhead out there with the answer to this wink
cheers..

george owen, which version of Recon are you getting? the earlier ones aren't an integrated binding the ski is flat. If its this older type there's no problem, the heel and toe pieces mount to a plate that is screwed to the ski this has a series of pilot holes which the heel and toe pieces screw into, these are marked with sole length ranges, pick the holes that correspond to your boot sole length. Final adjustment is done by moving the heel piece via screw adjuster.

The later Recons have an integrated rail which the heel and toe pieces locate onto, there shouldn't be any problem adjusting these but I don't know exactly how its done, I assume there will be marked positions as with the old type.

Nice ski Very Happy

rich, They are 2007 apache recons. From pics they look like the second option you described.
I've learned that they were purchased locally so i may nip back to the original retailer and get them checked out.
Thanks for the help. I can't wait to try them Very Happy .

should be a matter of adjusting a screw or two...best though take then and you boot to a shop and get a tech to do it for you properly and set your din settings..shouldn't cos more then 25quids

papasmurf, thats exactly what i did today. Nipped over to RIVINGTON-ALPINE ( original retailer) after work.
Bindings adjusted to boots and din reset. £15. excellent service from a local independent shop Very Happy .

rich, pretty much as you described, one of the screws is hidden under the little "piston control" badge at the forward edge of the front binding.
Just want to try these skis out now. About 3"of snow here this morning, i could have skied in the park at the end of the road this morning snowHead snowHead snowHead .
Get my shifts out of the way this week and i'll have to get over to Chillfactor. I just want to get a feel for the skis before we head for Tignes at Newyear.
