Made a plan that we are both gonna buy six novelty ski hats one for each day.

Good to see the fine tradition of schoolkid silly hats kept up - well done there! Though unfortunately I have no idea where the little blighters get them from - always wondered.

Boredsurfing, lots of school groups ski without helmets, in fact. And you can also get stick-on silly ears for helmets - used to be a motorbike accessory, now sneaking into ski shops. Mr L has a pair of foolish dog-ears, and I've also seen tiger ears and devil horns.

Lizzard, In Italy helmets are compulsory for school kids by law, I thought ESF had an internal rule that under14's had to wear helmets - maybe thats just in Savoie (or La Plagne)

Boredsurfing, on all the school trips I went on (3 as a student, 1 after I left) I only once (as in one day, not one trip) wore a helmet

Boredsurfing, well it hasn't been the case here so far, though I suppose they might have changed it for this season.

I'm told it is compulsory where we go in Switzerland too for the kids - I've never argued - my kids just wear their helmets

A mate of mine has a hat that is also a clown glove puppet, it's immense! no idea where they got it though.

Hey dont need to wear a helmet last time I was there, two years ago didnt need one then hope I dont need one now. I will find out!
