Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Livethedream24, Depends, would you say you have normal feet (Flat footed, etc), if you have normal feet Snow & Rock toe the the line (excuse the pun wink )
They do the thermal boot liner stuff etc, etc.

I had mine done at the Holborn S&R no probs, happy with the service.

I used Profeet a few years ago - ask for Hamish as he knows his stuff. Since then I've visited Solutions 4 Feet to be sorted out by CEM who posts here. It was definitely worth the trip up the M40.

I've used profeet and it cost more than the boots to have them fitted..check out their price list...£119 or more if you want conformable liners..

Life time guarantee though..but my feet still hurt.

I'm having the same problem in Nottingham/Derby. There's Two Seasons or Two Seasons who don't seem to be recommended by other snowHead s...

Apparently there's a great place in Bicester but that's a fair old trek from here, might be a bit nearer to Lahndahn...?

Livethedream24, I can recommend CEM in Bicester, an easy drive from London, plus you get to visit the outlet centre.

Livethedream24,

This subject has been covered in a number of other threads:-

In London (Fulham) there are 2 specialist ski boot fitting shops Profeet and Surefoot.

The advantage of Surefoot is that they also have shops in about 25 ski resorts mainly in the US but also, Val D'Isere, Courchevel, Crans Montana, Verbier and Chamonix? Check their website. I suggested to one reader that he gets his boots fitted in London by Surefoot and if he needs them tweaked to get that done in their Courchevel shop instead of wasting skiing time in Courchevel.

Have you decided which resort you're heading for, I gave you info about seasonal accommodation in St Anton. If you go to St Anton the specialist custom ski boot maker is Strolz in Lech and Zurs which are a cheap bus ride from St Anton.

I live 2 yds from Snow & Rock main store (chertsey) but drove to bicester to see CEM (Solutions4feet.com) to ensure I got a good fit. Good Prices too.

Plus a bit of shopping in the outlet village...

 You know it makes sense.

If you are East London all my friends seem to have been fine with their boots from Skeetex (essex - google it) - nothing massively tricky as all friends are easy-footed intermediates, but worth a try if you don't fancy the trek to lockwoods or the prices at profeet. aj xx

Profeet - unlimited tweaks - I have been back 3 times and my boots are very comfortable and nicely snug.

plectrum,

Were the tweaks done between skiing trips or after walking around the house a few times?

The "proof of the pudding" in this case is only when you have been skiing in your boots. In other words boots may feel comfy until you ski in them. Tweaking should only be necessary after skiing in them. They should feel comfy when you leave the shop.

CEM,

You're absolutely correct. I should have been more specific on the definition of "comfy".

For years I had comfy boots but I didn't realise they were too big and I couldn't ski as well in them as I could have in well fitted boots that are tight but comfy. How do you describe how your boots should fit?

best boot fitters in Fernie are on the ski hill on the lower ground floor of the Griz Inn. The guys really know their stuff.
