Any advice on packing your ski's, have always driven down, but am flying this year, what type of bag should I buy for two pairs of skis, how do you protect the edges?

I use a EB double wheeled bag...2 pairs of skis and poles, 1 pair boots(can take 2 but then its to heavy for flying) its padded so not to bothers about the edges, though i then to wrap salopets and jakects round the skis aswel lfor extra padding

I just bough a Volkl 2 pair wheeled bag from Two Seasons in Peterborough, only £40, bargain. I've never taken 2 pairs together before, first time in February, normally wrap skis in bubble wrap though.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

radar If you decide to use bubble wrap, make sure the skis are dry first as the edges will show signs of rust very quickly.

I have the S&R double bag with wheels. It's padded so I don't worry so much about the edges getting damaged from outside 'forces', but I do put one pair inside another (single) ski bag in the main bag to stop the edges of each set catching against the other.
I then pad the ends of the bag with other random clothes!
I don't use jackets and sallys to pack around edges though as I get the feeling that the edges could damage the clothing, I might be wrong though, papasmurf must find it fine!

Yeah never had an issue, the bag does have compression straps so the skis stay pretty still and if you don't wrapped stuff to tight then theres enough movement to aviod tears etc

..buy a snowboard bag with wheels at the end... two pairs of skis + boots + poles + random other equipment can fit in easy peasy... also doubles up as a bed when delayed at airport check-in..
