Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Junior Twin Tips - which make, how long?

Help please...
I have a 12 year old boy who skis facing forward and on the piste only when there is absolutely no other option. After much pestering I have given in and agreed to buy him some twin tips. I am way outside my comfort zone here so.... would Head mojo 65 or 70 be any good?? Any recommendations for other makes that wont break the bank as they will only last 2 years or so before he needs something longer? Also, do the same rules about length apply as for on-piste skis or should they be shorter?

Thanks

i dont have any idea!! Very Happy but the snow heads with knwoledge will say (i think) "how tall is he, how much does he weigh, what is his skiing standard" so id include that.. but maybe because hes a kid (like me Very Happy) they wont ask that!

oh and welcome to snowHead s!!!

Hi
Like you, I thought that as he was a kid it wasnt so important when deciding on which make of ski. Also, I am writing this from Italy (living 2 hours from the Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn, or Il Cervino as they like to call it here) and he is at school in England, so it would only be a rough guess! He is an average height, normally skinny 12 year old who has skiied since he was 5 or 6 and likes to do freestyle stuff whenever possible.

I'm selling these if you like them:

http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=1024711#1024711

85mm underfoot should be ok for a 12 y/o, I think. Height may be an issue, they are 169cm.

If these don't suit try these guys:

http://www.blue-tomato.com/en/welcome.bto

They ship to anywhere in the EU for free, if the order is over €200.

Here is their Ski sale page:

I hope this is useful.

Hi

Thanks for the info. I think the skis you have will be way too big for him, but I have been onto the site you recommended and they have a number of reasonably priced junior twin tips of different sizes and lots of good advice and info, so thanks very much. In the end I expect it will all be down to what they look like!
