Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

the short answer is that nowhere is snowsure at that time of year. And most certainly not Wengen. wink But if you headed to a higher resort - for example Val Thorens - you'd be more sure of snow. But also more likely to have cold, windy, bleak and possibly white-out conditions. But from there you could at least head further down the valley. Depends what else is important to you, really. From Morzine you can reach Avoriaz, which is as high as anything round there, though it does get quite crowded at busy times if snow is rubbish lower down. But wherever you go, it'll beat sitting at home watching New Year telly. snowHead

If the quality of the snow and the skiing is really important to you, go later in the season.

thanks Pam,

we are going away later as well Smile Toofy Grin Smile
partner would like somewhere more picturesque so i guess that rules out Val T etc, and has decided for this trip we will stick to Europe, and we both like catered chalets and somewhere fairly social, so its back to the drawing board rolling eyes Madeye-Smiley

boo22, Zermatt would tick the boxes for being both snowsure and picturesque.

boo22, too early for the Portes du Soleil resorts like Morzine to be described as 'snowsure'

boo22,

Agree that Zermatt ticks your boxes, as would Saas Fee and Lech. All are about as snowsure as it gets and really nice villages.
