Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lift Pass query

Poster: A snowHead
This question is really about Serre Chevalier but probably applies to other places.

As we are going to Serre Che for a month, the cheapest lift pass option seems to be the Season Pass. It seems a waste to buy a pass for the whole season and only use it for one month. I imagine they will have photos on so I guess you can't pass them on to anyone else. Is there any way of getting more value out of the pass such as paying a fee to transfer it to someone else, or getting a partial refund for returning it before the end of the season?

No - usually non transferable. Its built into the economics that most users won't end up with more than 20-30 days on them - full seasonnaires who get 120+ days get a bargain but most holders only get a couple of days a week in.

The ones in the Grand Massif don't have photos on the pass, but they do have them scanned in so the lifties can look on the screens as you pass through... a full face helment might make it transferable Laughing

marmalade, no refund, partial or otherwise unfortunately. Added value if you manage to go elsewhere. There is 25% off if you apply before the 1st December (but if you had applied before 1st November it includes a summer pass). There are free days at other resorts though which might save you money if you were going again later in the season. For some reason ours had 6 days free at Courmayeur last year, although we never used it.

fatbob, we get even more of a bargain than you think - season pass is usually half price with a work contract.
