Looking to get a giro G10 helmet as it seems to fit me well. Can anybody tell me if the tune up ear pads that cost about £30 will plug into a mobile phones to make and recieve calls. If they do not can someone recommend what will.

Farmboy, there are two different Tune Up kits - Tune Ups II which allows phone use and costs about £60 and Tune Ups I which is purely for listening to music. As far as I can see the second version is currently availlable only from REI.com and costs $15 plus postage (total coming in at about 30€ for me).

Yeah Tune UP IIs have phone\walkie talkie compatability.
One thing with tune ups, I found the cable really annoying..I bought a longer thinner audio cable which is less annoying but still can get in the way.

papasmurf, where did you get that from? And does it have the volume control/mute thingy on the cable? There's a bad connection in mine, and I was assuming I'd have to buy a whole new kit.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Have a look in Maplins they do a range of 3.5mm cables either flat or curly, though not sure about sound controls, the one I got has no mute or volume as I just wanted a thin light lead.

I found a much cheaper solution - stick your phone inside the ear pads, then you've got handsfree phoning, stick it back in your pocket when you are done.
Yeah you look a bit of a fruit loop but if you're a bloke it's going to be 'where are you', 'see you at the bottom of marmottes' - thus only a short call anyway..

or leave you phone at the bottom of your pack on silent, which works for me.
