Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

11th Nov Closest Resort to Geneva for cheeky day out?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am going to be in Geneva for the day on 11th Nov, any idea if any resorts near there are open then for a cheeky day's skiing?

Only really interested in an hour's travel from there.

All suggestions enthusiastically received! Very Happy

An hours travel, that would just about get you through the Geneva traffic jams to the outskirts Happy.

Nearest open resorts? Saas Fee, Zermatt, G3000, all 3 hours drive. Maybe Tignes by the Cormet de Roseland - ditto 3 hours.

how about Glacier 3000 above Les Dablerets. opened on the 26th Oct and is about 1.5 - 2 hours from Geneva. Straight onto the motorway at Geneva, off at Aigle an hour later and up past Villars. We live not far from there so may be heading over there myself tomorrow Very Happy

But €36 for the day is quite (forgive me) "steep"

However it is looking like the only option right now. Any idea how it compares to Tignes glacier?

Puzzled

Kaiser, if it carries on snowing you'll have the Saleve and Jura only 20 minutes away. Maybe no lifts running though...

Kaiser, I think you'll struggle to find any resorts open even for limited skiing, within an hour of Geneva, so early in November Sad

It's just because I am seeing a friend there and I doubt I will get to see him during season to ski chez moi, so I was thinking it may be nice to have a cheeky day out.

€36 is pretty much the going rate for glacier skiing, I agree, but if there were somewhere small and local which were open, that would be the ideal.

I shall have plenty of skiing again this year, I was just seeing if anyone knew of something around there I did not know about.

Thanks all for the good ideas though, it may have to be Villars!
