Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Seefeld

I know that loads of SnowHeads have been to Seefeld especially in their early skiing days.
Is the skiing in Seefeld suitable for a very nervous third weeker on snow?? I know that the skiing is rather limited but the time on the snow will also be rather limited so that itself is not a big problem. Any advice and info will be much appreciated

Hi Louis

Seefeld skiing is limited in scope and spread across various regions. The area does get huge amounts of snow though, I live in Innsbruck and Seefeld gets more snow than other region in the Tirol, apart from the Arlberg (as far as I am concerned). The skiing is very suited to beginners but I would caution against intermediates wanting to go there, the pistes are limited. The resort though has tons to do, including a casino and some good shopping. Just down in the valley there is Innsbruck, the capital of the Alps.

Greetings from a windy Innsbruck.

Matt

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I learnt to ski in Seefeld 2 years ago and after 3 days of lessons there was nothing on Gschwandtkopf that i couldn't ski down, it is nice and open and brilliant for building confidence, i had a private lesson on my second to last day, and then practiced some very nervous parallel turns on there, Rosshute has runs which are a little narrow but very fun, only a few bits should cause any problems. So i would say from my experiance its not bad at all for a nervous skier. Also the ski school is very good, just book ahead if you will be there during the school holidays.

Oh mein Gott - that takes me back. We went there for our first ever ski week. Lovely village and the Austrian instructor 'got us going'. He was called 'Sigi'. The beginner area seemed quite vast to me, so I thought it was nice. It should suit you fine.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

p.s. or you could try Saas Fee - that has some gentle terrain and a large beginner area too.
