Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Favourite Riders

I don't know about you but I am currently addicted to boarding vids on the run up to the winter.
Having watched about 20 in the last month there are a few riders who really stand out for me:

Travis Rice - Just absolutely fearless and such a smooth rider
http://uk.youtube.com/v/jOWyulZMVYY

Jeremy Jones (big mountain rider) - Unbelievable back country speed merchant
http://uk.youtube.com/v/pwLOfVWi0Wc

Jeremy Jones (burton pro) - one of the best rail riders I've seen
http://uk.youtube.com/v/ow913-Mi00A

Daniel Ek (Norwegan kid signed up by forum) His part in Isenseven's Ubermovie is one of the sickest I've seen culminating with a rail to flip to rail which is just mental!

Who are your favourite riders?

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Jussi for the airs
Jeremy jones the jibber
DCP
Shaun white when he's not in the pipe
MFM
Eddie wall
Travis Parker
Mason Aquirre

I've been on a vid mission as well this month, MDP's 2 decades is great, burton's it's always snowing somewhere is epic, love the idea of back to back winters. Think thank I liked, MDP's down with people (you can't go wrong with MDP) and absinthe's ready have all been hits on the stabometer.

Axel Pauporte (not bad on big mountains for a flatlander)

I'm obviously too old..but I find all the videos intensly dull. ok so for the first 10 minutes the cliff drops, big mountain stuff is spectacular but watching the park stuff and seeing yet another variant way of throwing yourself off a kicker however many spins, flips etc are involved is just dul dull dull. Yes I'm incredibly impressed with their skills but it's just something I find watching to be rather dull, and as for the sliding down stair rails - I just don't get it.

bertie bassett, I'm the opposite, I can appreciate the big mountain stuff but for me the technical aspect for the rail stuff is insane, nollie hardway 270 backside lip bs 270 out is way beyond anything I could ever dream about.

bertie bassett, I know what you mean and some of the videos can be a bit samey. However, I am with stab, in that some of the things that the "kids" nowadays can do are literally insane. Although I never tire of watching J Jones nail those AK slopes.

Also, the craft that goes in to creating most of these vids nowadays is to such a high standard that from an artistic point of view they just blow me away.

Lately I have tended to watch one of these in bed of a night, so that I can drift off into lovely dreams of hitting gigantic kickers into 3 metres of pow Very Happy

stab It's all well beyond what I can do, and that's why I guess I struggle to relate to it. And then all the language to describe a different type of flicking the board around - what's a nollie for example? I have the same problem with windusrfing - again I can probably do 2% of what the pros can do, but similarly I find the videos dull dull dull...

Current: Travis Rice
Legend: Noah Salasnek (see Superspines from the Totally Board series if you haven't already - it's beyond insane)

Bertie: a nollie is a nose ollie, so using a compression of nose of the board to spring into the air. I can barely do one wink
