Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ischgl & Surrounding Areas (Mathon & Kappl) - Transport Question..

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello knowledgeable Snowheads!

I'm off to Ischgl next March with 7 friends - flights booked etc.

Looking to book accomodation and most places within our budget work on a Sat-Sat basis. We need Sun-Sun.

There are a couple of B&B/SC options that i have found in Mathon and Kappl - the villages to either side of Ischgl.

Mathon is 3 miles away, but there is a free ski bus that runs all day until 17:30.

However, for evenings we'll be wanting to get into Ischgl itself - anyone know if there is a proper bus service that runs betweens these resorts? Or is taxi's and feet only?

Cheers

We had the same problem with Sun-Sun, but the way we did it was we got a Sun-Sat deal in Ischgl, and then transferred to Innsbruck after skiing on the Saturday and had a night in Innsbruck with a nice meal and a few bars. Could work for your party if you want to stay in Ischgl itself.

Can't help re ski bus to Mathon though. Sorry!

Cheers for the bus link. A 19:00 finish would mean a very long, cold walk home every evening! Have emailed the tourist office to see if they have any extra info!

Yep, this is an option we are looking at. I'd quite fancy this but a few members of the group were not so keen. Mind you, the way it's going they might not have a choice!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Have to say that unless your flight is reeeeeeally late on departure day (in which case you might have wanted to ski a bit more), the trip down to Innsbruck for a night was actually a bit of a highlight. It meant we had a nice change of scene for our last night, and Innsbruck is a lovely little city, and then it meant that the next morning, we just had a 5 minute bus ride to the airport, no getting up ridiculously early to make it for check-in etc. Another plus point, and one of the biggest, is that Innsbruck airport heaves on a Saturday, but is really very civilised on a Sunday, so it's win-win really.

I know people might think it's not a particularly 'ski holiday' type thing to do, but look at it this way, you get two last nights!
