Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

kitenski,

The Lecht are saying they might open. I guess Glenshee would be the next most likely, Carn Aosda and Butchart's do well on northerlies.

Next to no chance for the others, I think.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
Right now I would put the chances of opening somewhere in this order

Lecht 85%
Glenshee 60%
Nevis Range 40%
Caingorms 30%
Glencoe 20%

Lecht doesn't need much to open and is forecast for a big dump tonight to top up the 6 inches they have at the mo. Cairngorms has plenty to open but they are just about to go into their maintenance period and it's a lot of effort to get it up and going for 1 weekend. Glenshee are always good at getting things ready at the last minute if they can possibly open. Glencoe has a good fall but it's season is much later than the other resorts and I doubt they'll be spinning this weekend. Nevis Range would be the dark horse in my opinion those pics of the goose look very good.

It would good if the Lecht could open.

Having the first lift served skiing of the European season in Scotland, would attract some good publicity. snowHead

Hi

Me and a friend drove up to Glenshee today from Perth to see what it was like. Nightmare them not having a webcam! Wind was wild. Must have been over 50 to 60mph. Started off as blue sky, but that soon dissapeared and the clouds and snow closed in. Walked a wee bit up the mountain and took some photos.

Hope you enjoy.

I for one cannot wait till I can start skiing again!

Nick

Haha

Unfortunetly I can't afford the £12 worth of petrol it would use a day Wink

Thats like half a day skiing!

If its really cold and its raining in Perth, it tends to mean, it is or has been snowing up Glenshee!

Thats how I like to think anyway! Keeps me thinking positive!

Wow! There was hardly any snow what so-ever between the gates. It was only when you got right up to the Lifts that it was bad!

Must have had a big dump!

No chance of me getting to sleep now! haha

News on Bob's Blog is that Cairngorm might open at the weekend. I thought they were in choo-choo maintenance mode but apparently that doesn't start until Monday.

btw, forecast for Saturday is currently cold, clear and sunny with light winds. Very Happy
