Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Who Swapped Me Boots?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I put on my three year old boots today for an hour at Milton Keynes. It honestly felt like i had my wifes boots on or at best had mine on wrong foot round. I had them done up really quite loose but they still felt tight and after an hour and taking them off my toes were numb for a few minutes.

I have noted this happens every year but after about 4 or 5 days they seem to play nice and all becomes well.

Why does this happen?

Given the boots will now go back to bed until December at best, is there anything i could do now or then to avoid the unpleasantness?

Thanks in advance and apologies if its previously been covered.

it is probably not really much to do with the boots...its the feet, you wear spacious soft shoes all year round then you go put your feet into the hard tight fit of the ski boot, it just takes a while to get used to them again...wearing them a bit round the house may help a bit but skiing is really the solution......

solution to problem is to go skiing more, Toofy Grin Toofy Grin once you are past that initial few days the boots will great and the more you use them the more used to them your feet will be Toofy Grin

CEM, thanks for that. I once read somewhere that wearing them around the house (except in role play wink ) is a no-no because its nothing like skiing in them. I am happy to do it if it doesnt cause problems and there is a benefit, but am I just being hopeful going down that route?

Excellent! I'm going to frame that and stick it on the wall so I can say to my better half that the advice from the professionals for my painful feet is more skiing Smile

Peter Leuzzi, it is nothing like skiing, but it will aclimatize your feet a little
