Hello,
I will in Chamonix in Mid Dec/January if any one will be there. It's my first time so im looking for some ski camps off-piste for a week or something. Staying in a hostel so hoping to meet some skiing guns!!

jlaw, G'day there. I'm a Kiwi (but don't let that put ya off) and I'll be spending 3 days skiing in Cham during the xmas week. I'm combining it with doing a holiday with my dad, getting new boots fitted and demo'ing skis so I won't be going too mad on the slopes.

As I'm with my father I'll be in the converted mill near the casino... Valle Blanche I think it is. I lived in Sydney for almost a year ('99 to 2000)... great place. Think my boarder mates stayed in that hostel earlier this year.. they had a great time, hired a guide and did the Blanche route.

cool!! im there for 2 weeks, but prob won't ski for the whole time..might travel a bit if i get sick of skiing.. did ur mates like the hostel.. hope to meet some new ppl.. but have heard mixed reviews about the friendliness of the place.

They had a great time, it was a 3 day boarding trip... caught a long weekend. They seemed to think it was friendly enough. As always in France, be polite to people and learn a few basic words of the language and they will go out of their way to help you.
