Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

300,000euros is being invested to improve the snow park at Val Thorens this season.
The park, which opened in the Plateau area last season, is being expanded by 4.5acres. There will be a new 500m long handrail, the beginners’ learning area will be expanded and will have more educational and fun elements, and there will be improvements to the expert zone.
A second drag lift is also being installed, so increasing access to the park.
In addition, a new boardercross is being built in the 2 Lacs are, which will be 1.4km long and with a height fall of 350m....Source:

Not even Icelandic or Finnish park rats can ride 500m on a rail - can this possibly be right? Dunno what the record on a board is, but the
record grind on skis is ~54m
as of September '08.
Also, the picture with the article claims to show the park, but it doesn't - the VT park is on the other side of the valley up by Plateau (as
el Hen
correctly states). The photo shows the main 'collector' piste past the main area of town, and is roughly where the old park used to be.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
