Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best first flakes, where to go for early season snow

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has any advise or knows about a good website with historical snow that would tell me where is the best place to go for a weekend in November/early December? (not many websites present historical across resorts)

Would like to try Ski Armade as I have read about how close it in to Salzburg for the transfer.

It needs to be as cheap as possible..... Italy, Bulgaria??

Many thanks

Taemo

Atomic Boot Camp at Tignes? There's always the glacier even if it doesn't snow between now and then. I've not been on it, but ran into some guys in Tignes last November who said that it was the cheapest skiing in the world...

taemo, generally speaking Tignes really is one of the cheapest places to ski and very few places are reliably open in November. Have a look at the boot camp details - I'm going in October, and it's a great deal.

Thanks, I was looking at a sort of group holiday. That looks great.

Was considering the SCGB avalanche weekend, but that all looked a little too expensive.

I enjoyed hoping over to Tignes, I was in VDI 2 years ago.

Cheers

James & Pam, do you take your own skis with you as well, or hire in resort ?

How often do you get trial skis ?

taemo, I haven't been yet, but I gather there are plenty of skis to try and you don't need to take your own.

Taemo,
we have a chalet in Bansko, Bulgaria and some Winters we have fantastic snow early on - we were skiing from November last winter. The official open date is the 13th Dec and the lifts only open early if there is good snow so it would be a bit of a gamble to book an early holiday now for Bansko - you might arrive and find that the lifts havn't opened yet!
