Hubby's birthday coming up and he desperately needs a new jacket. He swears the only make that fit him are Descente - but I cant find a stockist anywhere. Tried googling descente and emailing them - but they tell me my email address isnt valid... weird.
Thanks

jayne durham, I buy Descente stuff from the USA online... much bigger range and way better priced. I just use google to find stockists and go from there. I think there's also a retailer directory at www.descente.net. Quality is assured and sizing is spot on so I never have a prob. Right now there will be deals and it only takes a week or so to get it over - shop deals with shipping, you pay import duty and VAT on delivery. UK stores have almost stopped stocking it and choice/sizes/price is poor.

Thanks everyone. Blues doesnt seem to sell on line and Glasgow is a bit far from Sussex!
Tried "skishops" - but they havent got his size in stock
Think buying from the US might be the answer... Anyone know how much I will have to pay to import??

Err... No. There's import duty, carriage and VAT. From memory the jacket I bought was $275 (around £150). By the time it had landed at my front door it had cost me £225 but still a big saving on a UK shop price (if you could find the item at all in the UK that is).

Hi guys!
I too have been viewing this forum for quite a while, getting lots of good tips from everyone!
I've been looking for a Descente ski jacket for quite a while, I've noticed theres quite a few lurking on Ebay as well as other online stores.
I was particularly interested in the Graham jacket, its a stunning bright green colour, would look fab with a pair of comfy black ski pants.
I think my wait just paid off, found the exact jacket at skiwear4less.com reduced from £395 to £249! I've ordered a few little bits from these guys (perviously on ebay) so just placed an order for the jacket now! Can't wait till it arrives

hello everyone! Ditzydiva resurrected this thread from Sept last year. Hope your new jacket is just what you want!!
We couldnt find a descente one in the right size in the UK at the time - so Steve got a nice new Spyder jacket for Christmas. But I would still be interested in Descente. Hi Kevin - Do you have any experience of buying stuff of this website? Hope you and the crowd are well.

jayne durham, I've bought stuff from here before. Hubby had a DEscente jacket from one of their ski sales they used to do in a local hotel, he had it for years until last New Year, when an unwelcome visitor to my son's new year party took it home. I've been eyeing them up all day, but would rather spend the money on our April holiday.

Many thanks Helen. Will tell my husband. I'm just wary of copies out there.. Its nice to get a second opinion on a website.

jayne durham, they still have shop locally, and they've been around for a long time. I got my Rip Curl jacket from them last season too. We both bought our first pair of boots from them , although not online. (the guy who worked at the Newvcastle store used to be a boot fitter at another ski shop in town) . Were known as Ski Warehouse.

Hi guys!
My jacket arrived at 9.30am the next day!! I couldn't believe it! An absolute perfect fit, off to St Anton at the weekend, so I'll test it out then!
I heard about these guys at one of their roadshows, just happened to wander past the venue and seen a banner outside! Picked up a nifty brochure too
Anyone else going on holiday this month?

jayne durham, Hi Jayne We are all well and wishing we were still out in Les Arcs I have only ever brought from them at a local sale in a hotel, which they seem to have stopped doing. They were always a bit of a jumble sale but they normally came by at least once a year and there were bargains to be had.
