Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

how young can you start skiing?

Junior #1 started at about 8 months (pics). Junior #2 on his first birthday. But only for a few minutes at a time and taking it very slowly. 6 months on from his first slides (being pulled around on the flat) junior #2 is now confidently sliding on his own about 5 metres at a time.

But they soon pick it up - I gave up the battle to keep up with junior #1 by the time he was 6.

We bought equipment from kidski for the early days.

My son was almost four when we first took him. He had an hour's one-on-one for the first couple of days. After that he was able to 'plow an easy green and we spent another couple of mornings just doing that. In the afternoons we did something different so that he did not get too tired. Since then, he and his older sister love the snow and are getting better than me!

Chamonix was a great starter location, they have a super easy green in the middle of town with a little conveyor belt to get the kids up the hill. There is also tons to do when not skiing, all very much close to hand.
