Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Flights to Vancouver

Morning all,

Does anyone have any suggestions of good places to get a flight to/from Vancouver next February/March?

The disappearance of Zoom seems to have caused a bit of a scarcity and a quick search yesterday found nothing direct at all (even from Heathrow and Gatwick - I live in Birmingham). Going via Seattle looked like the best bet.

Maybe I just don't know the best websites and someone here does... Smile

Grateful for any suggestions, anyway!

snow_rat, I know BA fly there daily direct from Heathrow, and I would imagine Air Canada do a service as well. Check out their sites or the bigger search sites like Expedia, Travelocity etc. The Feb week will be very busy.

Both Air Canada and BA have direct flights from Heathrow to Vancouver daily..

Air Canada have loads of other options via Toronto, Montreal, Calgary etc, but no point when you can go direct unless you specifically want to stop off somewhere. BA have 2 flights a day in the summer as well, not that that helps you much Laughing

I've just rebooked my flight via Amsterdam with KLM. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a flight out on the same day as I'd originally booked with Zoom, so that means (sigh...........) I'll just have to go out a day earlier and spend an extra day in Whistler.

I've heard some bad reports about Air Canada but I flew with them last year to Kelowna, (four Air Canada flights and two BMI) and I cannot fault their service. All bags arrived each way checked right through and the on-board service was nothing to complain about (better than BA Longhaul in my experience). Their 767 are a bit old but they are all being upgraded inside.

I was ok with Air Canada last year (except they booked me to go via Montreal with only 45 minutes turnaround time, which of course was never going to happen, so there was that unpleasant night in Montreal in an awful hotel with no money and having to borrow some to pay for a taxi back to the airport and getting home a day late - but _apart_ from that.... *breathes*)

Main thing is to get there safely, right? Smile

I would have preferred to go with BA this time but the Air Canada flight times were better.

I suppose with Zoom going down the tubes there is less choice now Sad Apart from AC, BA and a few charters who else flies to Canada?

arv, markP,

On my first flight over to Canada the cabin crew were great and a good laugh, it was a daytime flight which helped. The internal flights were OK nothing special but no complaints. On the flight back to London the crew were a bit grim but that was a night flight and again no complaints.

Yes the crew are older, I think the more senior staff tend to get the long haul slots - have you seen some of the BA long hall crew Shocked The worst service I have had is on a BA long hall night flight where the staff did the service and then disappeared for hours.

Actually, they're all about 25. It's the continuous exposure to cosmic radiation at high altitude that has a marked ageing effect on the skin.
