Going to stretch the legs at Milton Keynes for my first experience there, will i need to book in advance??
work near Euston and it's 30mins from there. Is the station near the snowzone?
Will it be worth the trip. seems pretty short at 170meters.

it's suggested you book beforehand, but weekdays tend to be quieter so you may not have to. the snow was good when i went there last night. i think a session at an indoor slope is defo worth it for a quick fix. it takes a while to get used to, but by your third run you should have the knack. be aware that it's a poma lift system so i hope you can use one confidently. if you're not confident, ask the lifties to slow it down for you.
note tho, the cheapest way to get to milton keynes central by train isn't the fastest. cheapest ticket = £13.50 on london midlands; fastest = £19.20 on virgin trains. also, the snowdome is a good 20 minute walk from the train station or a ~£5 cab fare/£1 bus fare

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Woah... 20 min walk.. thats annoying. didnt suggest that on web site. Poma lifts are fine (nothing can be as bad as La plagne - like buckeroo!)
i'll book online in a bit, worth ago as wanna test out my new boots before going away properly in case any tweaks needed.
How long does the ski take.. 30 seconds????

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Libertine, go by Virgin - def worth the extra, but check for engineering works first - some trains aren't stopping at MK at the mo'. I know cos I have to work there and a colleague nearly ended up in Coventry.

Libertine, no need to book but go early. Later on they close off sections for kids' toboggan sessions and it gets busier too. Two of us went today (I've posted a few pics in that thread) but didn't start skiing until 10.30 and wished we could have started an hour earlier as by 11 they'd closed off the best snow and it started to get more crowded.

So, Libertine, have you been? If so how was it?
If not, go in the morning: much quieter - no queues for lifts.
You have to be a slowish skier to take 30 seconds down it (I'd guess more like 20). But 30 secs might be average and beginners take a couple of minutes.
