I need to sort out some new boots soon. Are there any good alternatives to the inevitable Brighams and Snow&Rock in the South West? (Other than a 100mile drive to Profeet in London which I'm considering if all else fails....)

I am, and might do that. I'm in Verbier last week of Jan, then in Whistler for 10 days at end of Feb, but I really wanted to get it done before going out to Verbier. Although Whistler might be a good bet for buying if the $exchange rate stays as favourable as it is right now. Anyone shopped for boots in Whistler and can recommend one store in particular, or are they all much of a muchness?
Looking for an 'expert' boot to replace my Lange L10's (never been that happy with how those performed, I got them cheap and regretted it later, they turned out to be a step back from my worn-out Lange X8's that I loved). I need a really low volume boot to get a good snug fit - I have very skinny calves, ankles and feet.

DavidS thanks for that thread and the Surefoot Verbier recommendation, they may the way to go. Turns out they have a website http://www.surefoot.com/shop/. Not heard of them before, they're a US company with just two European stores in Oslo and Verbier.
And I've bought plenty of gear in McCoo's in Whistler before, I didn't know they had such a fearsome renown as boot doctors!

How long have you skied your L10s? I am debating with myself whether to ditch my Rossignols - which I have a pretty uneasy relationship with - or keep them going until next season...

I can't remember if they're 4 or 5 years old? So they'll have only done about 15 weeks. But I got them at a really knock-down price so I'm not too bothered about ditching them for new ones now. In hindsight I may have made the mistake of getting 'Medium ACD' L10's rather than the Race Fit variety. They just don't hold my feet tightly enough anymore (if they ever did), and they've never quite had the sweet responsiveness and the 'feel' edge-to-edge that my older Langes had. I'm a fast and aggressive skier on piste but I'm spending more time off-piste or messing about jumping in the snow park these days so I'm looking for a boot that will cope well with everything.
I've been looking at the boot reviews in the December Fall-Line and the my short list to start from is:
Lange Comp L120
Head SLineS12 Superheat 3
Rossi Elite Bandit 1
Salomon Pro Model Spaceframe (although I've never tried on a Salomon boot that wasn't far too loose for my problem feet, even with everything tightened up to the max).
