After seeing the Easyjet prices yesterday for February half-term, I decided to check out BA Easter prices instead.
Result is I have now booked for Easter instead of half-term.
Easyjet half-term STN -GVA = circa £1500 (at crap times)
BA 2nd Easter week LGW - GVA = £408 (at good times)
I realise the snow isn't usually as good at Easter, but the difference was too big to ignore, plus I can rent my apartment for more money at half-term
BTW, that's for a family of four.

It's been great, the last few Easters. Last Easter was incomparably better than half term in our part of France, where practically no snow fell, at any altitude, all through the four weeks of the vacances scolaire. I do think EJ are daft not bringing out their late March/April schedules till so late in the year; don't they realise that the ski season doesn't end in mid March?

ssnowman, I can't understand why people, especially those with access to London Airports, wait for the "cheap" flights to become available for peak weeks. I booked with BA for half term flights Gatwick to Zurich as soon as they became available at £115 each. I think the advantage of scheduled flights is that:
- you know exactly when they will be released (50 weeks or whatever before )
- the pricing is far clearer witrhout the add ons
- they don't seem to "load" the prices at peak times (although of course the cheaper seats quickly get sold)
Don't get me wrong i don't think BA or any other airline is without faults as some other threads on here have illustrated.

Colin B, I don't think I'll be using Easyjet again at peak times.

Always use Jet2 for main holidays now - cheaper, more convenient, better service, don't feel like cattle!
Unfortunately that's not an option for Tignes Bootcamp so Easyjet it is.

marmalade, it is an option for me, luckily. I've booked Swiss out of London City - early finish from work, saves a days leave, costs me nothing to get to the airport and back, including skis, £118.

Easter is not a fixed date, of course.

What's the direct comparison like though?

Unfortunately I didn't look at BA prices the day they came on-line, but I would guess they would be cheaper than that.
Last year I paid £530 for EJ half-term flights the day they came on-line.
