Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just booked with some friends for long weekend here. Anyone had any experience of the area, what the snow is like in Feb and the apres ski?

Cheers

There are quiet a few Kirchbergs in Austria but I take it you mean the one near Kitzbühel. If so it looks like the night life is ...

Night life abounds here, and we are willing to bet that no matter what your taste you will find something that meets your fancy. There are pubs and clubs, restaurants, pizzerias, discos, the lot. In Kirchberg most of these locations are priced realistically.

Have fun.

croskemj, Kitzbuhel is vastly overrated. The slopes are average and the lift system and skibuses are utter rubbish.

However, the daylife and nightlife are good.

The snow will be fine, because Feb is peak-Winter.

Utter rubbish comes in many forms rolling eyes Kitz is a really nice resort, has plenty of steeps if you want them, plenty of off piste too. They are in the process of renewing many of the lifts, and as of a couple of years ago has connected up the Pass Thurn area with the main ski area via a valley-spanning gondola. They also now have a connection with Westendorf (havn't tried that yet). The area rarely gets really full, unlike (e.g) St.Anton. All in all it's one of the best ski areas in Austria! Enjoy.

Steilhang,

Please excuse Whitegold, appears it has been sometime since he skied Kitz. He's probably been spending his time in this ski resort ....

Skiied Kichberg/Kitz in March this year. Madeye-Smiley

Nice little town, bus out to 3 lift links into the main areas, great conditions at altitude, and a vast array of terrain, nice easy stuff through to the (albeit detoured) Hannekam (sp?). Toofy Grin

Nightlife is a bit weak in Kirchberg, but it has a late night takeaway that does Pizza etc and a nice kebab (if such a thing exists). Shocked

We met and skiied with some great folks, would go back there happily, although those in the know say that Kitz is a step up in terms of the non-skiiing side of the holiday - beer or snow??? - decisions decisions decisions

I DEMAND BOTH!!!! Evil or Very Mad

You're 100% wrong.

Was there just a few months ago.

The skiing sucks. The lifts suck. The skibuses suck.

It is little more than a few hills with the odd lift stuck here and there. And occasionally a bus will turn up and take you the x miles to the nearest lift.

Kitz disappoints bigtime.
