Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing in Argentina/Chile Boarder!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi guys this is my first post to snowHeads,

Heading out to South America this week, flying into Santiago, Chile. Along with a bit of surfing, I was hoping to get a bit of skiing in. Can was anyone recommend any ski resorts. From a few friends i have heard that Bariloche is the pick of the bunch in Argentina. Be good to hear from some first handers though.

Thanks Smile

Thanks, I'll have a read! Maybe I should learn how to use the search function before I make another post:sH:!! Just saw on snowheads news, resort has been evacuated in South Chile because of Volcano! I'll give that one a miss! Laughing snowHead

TimD, As far as i know bariloche hasnt opened yet due to lack of snow! The resorts around santiago are all open with good snow and if you ride park, the park in El Colorado is up and running.

Where are you going surfing at? Very Happy

Thanks for that, bloody snow problem I thought that was just France! It had to re-close on the 30th June! Shame, cus the "Gateway to Patagonia" looks and sounds simple amazing by all accounts. I'll have to check these others out! Taking a couple of beginners, so park in El Colorado might be out the question, dont want them breaking legs in the first weeks, of a 2 months trip!

Hoping to do a bit of surfing in Punta de Lobos and Valpraiso. If I get a thick enough wetsuit, and I strap a pair on! snowHead

In that case, stay north.

Portillo, Valle Nevado, El Colorado.

Just a bit south of Santiago you have Termas de Chillan.

TimD,
The only place with snow in Argentina at the moment is Las Leñas. We've had to change our plans for next week from Baricloche/Chapelco to Las Leñas. The only problem is it costs 30% more.
