I'm helping arrange our next annual office ski freebie for 25 or so of us. For end Jan '09 I'm thinking about St. Moritz, with an air transfer from Zurich to Engadin Airport. The transfer would be at, say, 7pm on a Friday evening. Does anyone know how reliable this service is e.g. is it often/ever closed out by weather? Cheers.

Personally I wouldn't fly to Engadin airport after dark in January but... whatever. All I can say is a pilot friend of mine who holidays in St Moritz never flies because he would be worried about getting snowed in... but that is his own plane.
However January weather in St Moritz tends to be pretty dry, if very cold.
You would miss one of the best railway journeys in the worlds though. Although the last trains are around 7pm time.

davidof, Agree, it has to be one of the best train journeys in the world, until you get to Chur!!!!
They used that airport for the scene at the end of "where eagles dare". If I owned an aircraft I would want some sod crashing into it with a snowplough

Hmmm. Food for thought there. Thanks. Don't mind getting snowed in  but it wouldn't be great if we had to try and get there by alternative means should our plane not be able to get in.
