Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I know transfers vary a lot due to traffic/snow etc but what would an average transfer time from Chambery to ValD be?
According to various websites its seeems to vary wildly from 1.5hrs to 3hrs+???
I went last 19yrs ago and remember it being a long Schlepp but from Lyon I think.
Whats the perceived wisdom out there ??

Guessing slightly but if not in saturday and with no adverse weatehr it shouldn't be 3 hours. 3 hours is about the best ransfer time from lyon. I've had 1 good experience and 1 bad experience (4 and a quarter hours) from lyon. I'd say 1.5 hours would be your best achievable time from chamberry

Seriously: Chambery is about airport is about 55 minutes nearer than Lyon. Lyon is a 3.5 hr coach ride on a good day. A 12 seater minibus will be little quicker than a coach.

hedley, Must put in a disclaimer at this point - if you hit the weekend rush, be prepared to add at least another hour or two.....

I have done several coach and a couple of minibus transfers between Chambery and Val d'Isere over the last three winters and they varied around the 2 to 2.5 hours, all were on a Saturday. The big time waster was inside Chambery airport!

I generally reckon between 2 hrs & 2hrs 15 mins Chambery to Tignes le Lac, midweek. Chambery airport very quick in offloading luggage midweek, too!

 You know it makes sense.

Took us 9 hours on a coach when we went. Yes it was bad weather conditions and the worst part was there were no toilet facilities !

i think 1.5 hours is optimistic! i live in chambery and am not sure i could ever do it in 1.5.. depends how daredevil you are on the bends! i'd agree with the 2-2.5 hours depending on conditions
