...will be announced quite shortly. We're just fighting over the freestyle and big mountain/powder category winners. Basically, all of us who are normal (representing quite a lot of ski buyers) think one thing, and Jamie (representing all the other people who regularly drop off 60' cliffs and can ski the Sella Ronda backwards in an hour and 20 minutes) thinks something else. We're trying to find a compromise.

Freestyle: Faction Wednesday
Big Mountain: Faction 13s.
However, I suspect that the word Scott might appear in there. Punisher and Stunts get my money.

Surely it depends on which manufacturer sent the biggest hamper?
Or does that only guarantee a place in the final shortlist, with a 'highly recommended' tagline?

pam w, I would never question the personal integrity of fallliner, but business is business, and such incentives have been known to cloud the results in popularity polls in the past

Let me guess its the
Fatbob Engineering
Chelski Romanov 9500 Si
Only conceived of yesterday but it costs $25,000 a pair, comes in a bling encrusted ski bag and is hand delivered by a pair of pneumatic Russians (Blonde and Brunnette) select sex according to your preference.
Must win surely

CEM, I think it could be. And the bugs have hardly spent a penny with us for ages. Ah well, you can't second guess marketing spend all the time...
pam w, the winner is generally not a cliff-dropper's ski - the Big Mountain category winner is for them. Look how rude all the hard-core lot are about last year's winner. One of the trickiest bits about picking the Big Mountain winner is finding a ski that is stocked in the UK; most of the skis tested in this area might have one pair sold into the UK and less than 100 pairs sold globally. Not the biggest of markets, but they do make for good pictures.
Update coming...

My money for fall line ski of the year is on the Salomon Lord...........
although I think the Scott Crusade is a better ski....
(They were both in my top 5 skis on the EB ski test)

Yup - a Scott ski is a good bet (the new rossi B2 - ha ha).
Though i still reckon the K2 coomba deserves a prize. Super versatile ski for off piste.
Very light, insane floatation and (although not super stiff) they can be charged pretty hard & fast.
They seemed popular in the alps last winter, especially with guides - but didnt read much about them in uk ski press.
Its not a pure 50ft cliff-droppers ski - but for mere mortals I reckon its one of the best.
And a fitting tribute to the man they were named after.
If one thing improved my skiing last season it was probably this ski

fallliner, Will you ever bring a van load of skis to an EOSB again ?
It was a great success last time. Now that people know the score, I think it would be even more popular were you to repeat it.
Sadly there is not as much discussion of skis on Snowheads as there used to be.

As for big mountain ski of the year, I think it will be the gotama, its a famous ski, but its a lot more skierable than it used to be so mortals can enjoy it too!
Freestyle its the year of the true twin, so possibly the salomon suspect or the k2 disorderly?

It'll be announced when the mag comes out! this is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get you to buy the mag...

Actually, when does the mag come out?
Is it only during the winter season?
