Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

TR Dome des Nants, Couloir WNW

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
With all the end of season chat going round I thought I should just rub in the fact there is still some awesome snow to be skied out here so here are a few piccies from today on the WNW couloir of the Dome des Nants with Will. A good 700m of steepness - not as steep as the Courtes, but with more exposure and route-finding thrown in. Happy days!

Couloir visible(ish) middle of picture:

As usual more detailed report on http://offpisteskiing.blogspot.com/

offpisteskiing, ... I can't place this one ... is it on the Pralognan side, or a variation from the Cul du Nant on Champagny side .. ?

Looks great ...!

Hey BernardC, ; if you go up past Pralo and head for the Roc de la Peche its up on the left (normally you'd park at Les Prioux if the road was clear..).
Pretty obvious line if you're looking from Courch/3 Valleys over to the Glaciers de la Vanoise.

offpisteskiing, ... Thanks! I hadn't 'noticed' it before & I have come down past Refuge de Roc de la Peche from Val Thorens, a few times.

Now on 'desirable' list for next season ... Very Happy

Yep...well worth the effort. 2 things to bear in mind though... 1. the top is quite exposed - lots of rocky outcrops & you could potentially head over a big cliff if you blow it. 2. Once you're off this bit into the main couloir you then have the mother of all seracs over your head until you exit the couloir. Nowhere near as menacing as the gerva' on the tacul, as it looks fairly stable at the mo', but definitely something to be aware of...
Other than that its all good!! (Apart from 1950m of skinning to get there)
