Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

You could always go touring, there may still be snow for some touring, but the weather is remarkably warm at the moment. Glencoe still looks to be loaded from photos:

Yup, was a great season and sad to see it end!

Judging by the web cams there's still loads of snow on the upper runs at Glencoe, it's criminal there's not enough punters to make it worthwhile opening though!

As Dave says though there's still snow for touring Toofy Grin

Yep, the lift served season may be over, but there's still some hiking opportunities for the (very) enthusiastic.

Was out 2 days ago skiing some snowfields over the back of the hill (they're still pretty massive - I'll be back up again as soon as I have the chance), then skied an ice climb for return to the north side of the hill.

That couloir looks very skiable....but an interesting dilema would have to be faced:

Where do you put the skis on...and how?

There was a slight scoop between the snow and the rock wall at the top (rhs bit in that photo), so with care it was fairly easy to get my walking boots off, and then into the ski stuff.

Had an absolutely amazing day up at Glencoe yesterday. Built a booter in the Main Basin, where grabs, 1's, 3's, switch 1's, switch 3's, fronts and backs were being done.

Unfortunately for one of the group, his day came to an end early where a backflip attempt (only getting round 290 degrees) ended up in a dislocated shoulder. Amazingly, a hillwalking doctor was passing by at the time who was quickly on-hand to pop his arm back into its socket again! Thanks again, Colin, on the off-chance you happen to read this.

Photos say it all as to how good the day was, and all can be seen here: (there's 2 pages)

If I'd have known you were up to stunts yesterday, I'd have been tempted to pop along and watch. As it was, I decided it was too hot to go up a mountain so went for a scenic detour on the long journey home.

I (inadvertantly) managed a bit of snow climbing up in the Mamores last weekend Very Happy
