Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First ever World Cup Title for a British skier

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Marc Poncin
Last month, Britain’s Marc Poncin became the overall World Cup winner in the Speed Skiing Production category and consequently brought home Britain's first ever winner's crystal globe. He had done well throughout the season, winning 43 of the 46 races held in the Production Category. What’s more, he beat some big names along the way: the 4th fastest speed skier in history, Jonothan Moret (Switzerland); and the current World Champion, Marcus Munzer (Germany)....
And just in case you think Britain’s skiers can't do corners, the next best results this season came from Skier-Cross where Britain's #1 Emily Sarsfield came 11th in the World Cup Ski Cross Finals in Valmalenco (Italy).

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Interestingly both of them have acheived these results without support from SnowSportGB, the body responsible for overseeing British competetive skiing.

As I understand, Emily Sarsfield's support from SSGB extended to a one way ferry ticket to France at the start of the season.
However someone obviously recognised Marc Poncin's potential to bring something home as he received a return ferry ticket Laughing

Both of these competitors are seeking sponsorship for next season.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Lizzard, 11,000 Fivers and ham sandwiches will go a long way to support a season . . . Confused

Well done to Marc but I believe Kerry Turnock had a Crystal globe back in 2007 gained in the FIS Masters Series. OK Marc is an overall Worldcup Champion a fantastic achievement - but not the first Brit to get a Crystal globe.

In all seriousness, would this be a viable option? (not the ham sandwiches, obviously Toofy Grin ) but a joint snowHeads sponsorship - would enough people be interested to make it work? I'd be happy to contribute if it were. What do you think?

Charli939, I'd chuck in a fiver, if admin cared to organize payments direct to the skiers - I wonder if we could have a charity sub organization of sHs one day, so that donations could be gift-aided.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Charli939, I'll certainly chuck a fiver into a sH pot to support our sport(s). I think there should be bi-annual appeals on the forum and a poll/vote system to choose on a pro-rata basis the discipline and athletes to benefit.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much
