Poster: A snowHead

I'm a skating fiend. Off to Tignes this weekend - apparently there's an outdoor ice rink? www.tignes.net and google reveal absolutely nuffink. Assume when the lake itself freezes it's used as the rink? Could anyone who's been to Tignes please enlighten me?
Thanks.

I have no recollection of an ice rink (I was there in Feb), but I wasn't looking for one. Presumably the lake would only work if it was cleared of snow (not that I know anything about ice skating - perhaps it's better with a foot or two of snow, at least one's falls would be cushioned).

I read in one brochure that one activity available at Tignes le Lac is ice diving i.e they cut a hole in the ice and you swim underneath the ice (suitably equipped with sub-aqua gear including a drysuit and a safety line). I guess the lake is fine for ice skating as long as you keep away from these holes

The lake is usually covered in snow with x country tracks over it, but I think the bit infront of the palafour is cleared for skating.
